Solving maths problem

This whole week for maths we  revisit how to solve problem using the 4 operation. To solve the problem we had to know our addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. At first I found it hard because I forgot how to do it but then after a while my knowledge came back and it was easy for me to do it. Next I would like to revisit how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions.

New swimming gears

In the morning we had two girls name Samantha and Michaela who came from Te Awamutu to donate swimming gear for our school. They shared  with us there trophy and medals they won in competitive swimming. They also shared with us a little bit about themselves. We are very thankful that these two girls came to our school and donated swimming gear just so that we could swim.

Working in a group

WALT: solve problems involving patterns

I worked in a group to solve a maths problem. In our group we had a discussion on how we will solve the problem. We helped each other to understand the problem. I think that working in a group is much easier because we can help each other and also there will be someone you can discuss the problem with. I really enjoyed working in a group because it made work much easier and I got to be with my friends.

Class rules

Walt: take responsibility for the class rules.

On Friday we combined with room 7 so that we can make up our class rules. I think that it is important to have rules in the class because without rules children would think that they are free to do whatever and then they will become a pain for the teacher. Everyone was given a piece of paper to write down any rules that they think would be suitable for the class. We had only 5 minutes to write down as many rules we can. When that five minutes was over we had to partner up with someone from the other class and then tick that ones that were common. After that we had to get into groups of four and we had to do the same thing. Then we got into groups of eight and tick the common one. Thereafter we had to share the rules that were common to the whole class. We only suggested 8 class rules. The easiest rule for me was to keep the classroom clean at all times. The hardest rule for me to follow is to think twice before you do something and following the teachers instructions.

E-asttle Writing

For my e-asttle recount writing result I got a 4A. I was really happy with my result. When I first started writing a recount I found it very hard but when kept trying and trying I found it very easy. I could now write a recount and my result is improving.  Next time I will try and get a 5B or 5P.
